Ticket sales begin March 1, 2007........

Just received the latest update on the 70's Nightclub Reunion III from our bandleader Robin. I think everyone was really looking forward to having the event at the Ilikai once again because of the large seating capacity, but things happen that are out of everyone's control. The good thing about the Ala Moana Hotel is the parking. Last year people were parking at places like the Hilton and walking all the way to the Ilikai. Parking will be much, much better.
Will have an update on where to park later but for now just wanted to stress the very limited seats that will be available. Once the tickets in the ballroom are sold out there will only be overflow seating available in the adjacent room and standing room as well. There will be widescreens available to let you watch the bands as they play but it's just not the same as being there in the flesh. Don't wait too long on this as seating will be very, very limited. Last year Phase VII was the group I was really looking forward to see, this year as Miles our trumpet player & horn section leader so aptly put it, "I'm really looking forward to seeing White Light again". You took the words out of my mouth Miles. It's gonna be a real cool evening at the Ala Moana Hotel come Saturday, May 5, 2007.

Guys,

Just a heads up. As of yesterday, over 100 seats have been reserved for our events as people have started to call in their reservations to Candy. As you know, ticket sales officially start on March 1, Thursday. If you have any reservations that you need to call in, please do so now to Candy (before Thursday). We allowed 2 months for ticket sales but at this rate it doesn’t look like we’ll have anything left after a few weeks! People are buying multiple tables as they did last year.

Aloha,

Rob

It'll be a scramble for tickets this year....

Got an email from our bandleader Robin with details of the upcoming event. The old saying is so true, you know the one, "Don't it always seem to go that you don't know what you got till it's gone". Joni Mitchell, the cool & wise one. Oh well, you know what I'm saying. 70s Reunion I was attended by a little over 600, Reunion II saw about 860, but it was in the Ilikai Pacific Ballroom the third largest ballroom in Hawaii. The move to Ala Moana to a smaller room couldn't be helped due to the change in the Ilikai ownership & long range plans of management. Sometimes you just gotta do the best you can with the cards you've been dealt with. No doubt Candy & staff will do another bang up job to make use of every inch of space that is available at the Ala Moana Hotel. The seating and setup will be a little different than the previous year so be quick to make your reservations as seats are limited. March 1st is the first day for ticket sales and there are already a bunch of people who have requested blocks of tickets. So this year make it a point to get those tickets early. Just like my cool high school Japanese language teacher once said, "I can wait but time won't". It's gonna be real cool so don't forget to get your tickets early this year. Here's some detail of the seating & stuff from our bandleader Robin.

Guys,

Seating is limited so reservations will be a must. These are the type of tables that are available in the main Hibiscus Ballroom (seating for 580).

Tables of 14 - 29 (406 people)
Tables of 20 - 6 (120 people)
Table of 12 - 1 (12 people)
Tables of 6 - 7 (42 people)

There will be additional tables outside of the ballroom and in the Garden Lanai. These would be considered open seating as well as SRO (standing room only). Tickets will be available for sale March 1, 2006. In addition, Candy has informed me that all the band tables will be outside of the main ballroom since they will have to maximize the paying attendance in the main ballroom. As people filter out throughout the night and as seat/tables become available in the main ballroom, those who have open seating and or are in the SRO mode can move into the main ballroom.

Should you have any questions regarding this event, please feel free to call or email me.

Aloha!

Rob

Greetings Reunion Fans!
Here’s the exclusive scoop! We have finalized the details for the next 70’s Nightclub Reunion! Asian Blend makes a return performance, this time with the DC Horns (David Choy and his brother on trumpet) and the inclusion finally of WHITE LIGHT rounds out the lineup with Phase VII, Power Point and Greenwood!
The details are as follows. Ala Mona Hotel Hibiscus Ballroom I & II Sat. May 5, 2007 8:00 PM to 1:00 am MC: Tiny Tadani Bands in Projected Order of Appearance 1. Greenwood 2. Asian Blend 3. Phase VII 4. Power Point 5. White Light Tickets: $40.00 Reserved Seating - $35.00 Open Seating & SRO(includes Nachos Bar) Call Candy 944-6812 or email: C.AU@alamoanahotel.com We are targeting to complete the flyer by February 23. When completed, it will be posted on this page. Seating will be limited because Ala Moana Hotel's Ballroom has a smaller seating capacity than the Ilikai. Therefore, we expect a "standing room only" capacity crowd for the evening.

Tickets are projected to go on sale starting March 1. We will continue to post dates here! Thank you for your continued interest and support for our "Reunion Series" event! It was a difficult time for all after the sale of the Ilikai but thanks to Candy Au and the Ala Moana Hotel, the event is back for all to enjoy with a solid lineup! See you there!!!!! Aloha! Rob

The 70's Nightclub Reunion III

The band White Light (pictured as they performed in the 70s), the full-time band at the Tiki Nightclub will be joining the lineup at the 70's Nightclub Reunion III. Confirmed White Light members for this event include singer Joy, bassist Arex, trumpet player Tommy & drummer Laine.

It's been a long, long time since the last post and a lot of cool stuff has happened since. First things first the event has a new home. With Candy Au now the Director of Catering at the Ala Moana Hotel, the 70's Nightclub Reunion III will be held in the Hibiscus Ballroom on Saturday, May 5, 2007 from 8pm to 1am. The evening will open up with Greenwood, followed by Asian Blend featuring Pam Petersen and the DC Horns (Hawaii Jazz icon David Choi on saxes along with his brother on trumpet), Phase VII (featuring the greatest Las Vegas one man band Van DeGuzman & the legendary Hemingway Jasmin), Power Point and closing the evening the six night band from the Tiki none other than White Light.

It should be a great evening to boogie to the awesome sounds of the 70s once again. More details to come.
